What We DON'T Collect

OmniTab does NOT:

  • Track your browsing activity
  • Store your search queries
  • Transmit any data to external servers

  • Share data with third parties
  • Store data outside of your browser

Local Data Processing Only

OmniTab operates entirely within your browser. All data processing happens locally on your device:

  • Tab Information: We access your open tabs to enable search and switching functionality
  • Browsing History: We access your history to allow searching through previously visited pages
  • Bookmarks: We access your bookmarks to include them in search results
  • Favicons: We display website icons to improve visual recognition of search results

All of this data remains on your device and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Required Permissions

  • tabs: To search, switch, and manage browser tabs
  • history: To search your browsing history
  • bookmarks: To search your saved bookmarks
  • favicon: To display website icons in search results
  • tabGroups: For advanced tab organization features
  • topSites: To show frequently visited sites

Content Script Access

OmniTab injects a content script to display the search overlay when you press the keyboard shortcut. This script:

  • Only activates when you trigger it
  • Does not read or modify webpage content
  • Does not interact with website data
  • Only provides the search interface overlay

Data Storage

OmniTab may use browser's local storage to save:

  • Your preferences and settings
  • Extension configuration

This data is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted.
